Established in 1941, The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is an international professional association with global headquarters in Altamonte Springs, Fla., USA. The IIA is the internal audit profession's global voice, recognized authority, acknowledged leader, chief advocate, and principal educator. Members work in internal auditing, risk management, governance, internal control, information technology audit, education, and security.
The IIAB is an affiliate of the US-based IIA Inc., a global organization having more than 180,000+ professional members in 170+ countries around the world dedicated to contribute to the development of Internal Audit practice toward good corporate governance. IIAB started its journey in 2004 under the leadership of Raihan Shamsi and received formal recognition from the IIA headquarter in 2005. Besides promoting Internal Audit profession, IIA Bangladesh is committed to contributing to the development of Corporate Governance, Transparency and good corporate governance. Now the total membership base of the IIA Bangladesh consists of around 216 professionals of the corporate arena of the country representing FMCG, Telecom, NGO, banking and practicing professionals. Membership number is growing steadily over the years.
Missions of IIA Bangladesh –
  • To provide dynamic leadership for the practice of internal audit profes¬sion in Bangladesh
  • Advocating and promoting compliance of IIA values and Code of Conducts among the practitioners
  • Providing professional education and learning opportunities to members
  • Awareness and implementation of IIA standard in corporate segment of Bangladesh
  • Acting as common platform for all internal audit professionals of the country to share information and experiences
  • Building up pool of Certified Internal Auditors (CIA) in the country to enhance professionalism in the practice of internal audit in Bangladesh
For membership with the IIA Bangladesh, you will have to –
1. Complete the Membership Application Form
2. Return the completed application form to the IIAB together with:
  • Payment for admission fee and annual membership fee (An account payee cheque for BDT 5000 favoring “The Institute of Internal Auditors, Bangladesh”.
  • Recent Curriculum Vitae
  • One passport size photograph

The following certification of the IIA is the only globally accepted designation for internal auditors -

The IIA also offers three specialty certifications, which are–

  • Certified Internal Auditors (CIA)
  • Certification in Control Self-Assessment (CCSA)
  • Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP)
  • Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA)

No. An individual does not have to be a member of The IIAB to take the certification exams or to become certified.
A variety of study materials are available through The IIA or from third-party vendors for each exam.
No, candidates may take/pass one exam part at a time or all four exam parts at once. However, a candidate will lose credit for any exam parts previously passed if the candidate does not take a single exam part within a two-year period from their last exam date.

Our test center is located in 32 Topkhana Road which is North side of Secretariate. Just beside the main road there is a building named Meherba Plaza. Chattagram Bhaban is Just Beside the Meherba Plaza. IT Bangla is in the third floor of Chattagram Bhaban.
